Autoco Mechanical & Auto Electrical Phillip

Great experience from start to finish. I started using Autoco due to its location which is walking distance from home. There is always a friendly face at reception and they actually answer the phone when I call. Text messages let me know when the job is done. No extra work or replacements are carried out without a phone call to discuss. There is a good business relationship with surrounding auto businesses so things like tyres, wheel alignment and electrics can be sorted with the expertise they deserve. My only gripe is that Autoco are becoming increasingly popular and it takes longer to get an appointment, but that is actually reassuring. Keep up the good work!

Absolute pleasure to deal with. Always greeted with a warm welcome by a friendly staff member. Very knowledgeable and helpful staff and nothing was too much trouble. Special shout out to Ray, at Phillip. She was an absolute pleasure to deal with and made the entire process from start to finish, very easy. Unfortunately we had a terrible experience. Mick was always great to deal with, but we had multiple issues. First a cooling issue wasn’t actually fixed despite being told it was. Autoco also outsourced work to replace our front control arms to another of their subsidiaries and a while later our left control arm ball joint fell out and we were left with no steering control at all while driving on the highway. Both mechanics who looked at our car said this could only have happened if it wasn’t put back on properly. Mick was sympathetic however Autoco senior management were terrible. We were only compensated for a small percentage of the repair fees because they weren’t given ‘first right to repair’. However we told them about the situation before our car was repaired and didn’t get any indication or suggestion to bring the car to them, even though the car was in another city and undriveable. Our car was nearly written off twice as a result of work done in this workshop and we’re incredibly disappointed that we’re being left with a bill and the safety aspect in particular not being taken more seriously.
